Cerusita

Cerussite is a lead carbonate that crystallises in the orthorhombic system and forms as a secondary mineral in the oxidised zone of lead deposits.
It commonly forms prismatic, tabular or acicular crystals. It is usually translucent, with vitreous lustre and colours from colourless to grey. Yellow colour is due to impurities or inclusions. It is relatively common in those environments.
At Mibladen it commonly occurs as pyramidal crystals or as twins. It commonly derives from the alteration of galena in the oxidation zone. Intense fluorescence is characteristic of specimens with high lead content and well-ordered structures.
Etymology
From the Latin "cerussa", the name for lead carbonate historically used as a white pigment.
