Description

Sinuous, organic piece evoking feminine natural forms, with small, transparent, lustrous gypsum crystals coloured an intense red by clay inclusions stained by hematite.

About Yeso

Gypsum is a hydrated calcium sulphate common in evaporites and cavities, known since antiquity. These coloured varieties are less common and highly valued for their rarity and beauty.

About the locality

Chella, in the Canal de Navarrés, is noted for aesthetic, usually white gypsum; the red variety is less common and highly valued by local collectors.
