Oro is a mineral with formula Au, in the Elementos nativos group. This specimen comes from Round Mountain Gold Mine, Round Mountain, Nye County, Nevada, Estados Unidos and joined the Terrium collection in 2025.
Description
La bailarina. Crystallised gold with very good lustre. Sculptural miniature resembling a flamenco dancer arrested mid-spin, with skirt-like laminae in flight and folds like flames.
History of this specimen
It is a blue-chip specimen that arrived at the right time. After a bad experience with a well-known dealer who proved disgraceful, Spirifer offered this jewel with exquisite service, earning my complete trust.
About Oro
This gold crystallised freely from hydrothermal fluids in small open spaces (cavities or fractures), where there was room to grow.
About the locality
An American classic with historic material and stable demand. It produces crystallised gold with free growth and laminar or three-dimensional forms recognisable at first glance, but it began as a gold camp with a small "gold rush" in 1906 and today is an industrial-scale open-pit operation.
