About Piromorfita
Pyromorphite is a lead phosphate that typically forms hexagonal prismatic crystals, sometimes barrel-shaped. It is noted for its colour range, from green to yellow, with olive, brown and orange tones.
About the locality
In April 1995, prior to the San Andrés discovery, amateurs uncovered a pocket at the Resuperferolítica concession (Santa Eufemia) lined with striking pyromorphites featuring honey and yellowish-brown hexagonal crystals. Within a few weeks, numerous specimens were extracted, many labeled 04/1995, and quickly dispersed through fairs and collections, marking the birth of a modern Spanish classic. Now's closed.
