Berilo Aguamarina from Sakangyi pegmatites, Mogok, Pyin-Oo-Lwin District, Mandalay Region, Myanmar — Terrium

Description

A transparent pale blue perfect aquamarine gem quality prism without striations, cracks or matrix.

About Berilo

Beryl is a beryllium-aluminium cyclosilicate. The aquamarine variety owes its blue colour to traces of iron.

About the locality

We don't see many aquamarines from the pegmatites of Myanmar (Burma), Mogok is not as known for aquamarines, as it is for ruby and spinel and other fancier gem crystals. However... from time to time great gemmy pieces like this one appear among those others.
