About the locality
The Liufengshan mine, located in Anhui Province, China, is characterized by intense hydrothermal alteration of sulfides, which favors the secondary formation of minerals such as azurite and malachite. These pieces come from copper-rich oxidation zones, where circulating solutions precipitated these carbonates onto natural cavities in the host rock, generating spectacular associations with contrasting tones. The geode in this piece clearly shows these processes, standing out for its size and vibrant aesthetic.
