Berilo Aguamarina
Berilo is a mineral with formula Be₃Al₂(Si₆O₁₈), in the Silicatos (Ciclosilicatos) group. This specimen comes from Erongo Mountain, Namibia.
Description
Multiple prismatic growth of very pale greenish-blue aquamarine, with zones of irregular transparency and surfaces with micro-growth steps. Aggregated, slightly divergent crystals, with well-marked prismatic faces and incomplete terminations. Intimate association with sheets of brown mica attached to the sides.
About Berilo
Silicates of the beryl group, the bluish variety due to traces of Fe²⁺. Associations with muscovite in prismatic aggregates are typical of Brazilian granitic pegmatites.
