Goethita Botroidal
Goethita is a mineral with formula FeO(OH), in the Óxidos group. This specimen comes from Taouz, Errachidia, Marruecos and joined the Terrium collection in 2025.
Description
Highly aesthetic iron oxide. Bicolored piece with one dark metallic part and another reddish-brown part, due to the surface oxidation of the original goethite (FeO(OH)) that has given rise to hematite. Mineral formed by oxidation processes, notable for its natural beauty and its size, which makes it a display piece.
About Goethita
Goethite is a hydrated iron oxide that commonly occurs in botryoidal, acicular, or massive habit. It is a common part of iron mineral alteration processes. It is opaque, with a luster ranging from submetallic to earthy.
