Description

Piece composed of hackmanite and green hauyne, with purple and green colorations visible to the naked eye.

History of this specimen

Compact crystals and a translucent appearance. Hackmanite is famous for its color-change ability (tenebrescence) and its fluorescence. The green hauyne stands out for its rarity.

Etymology
In honor of Victor Axel Hackman (1866-1941), a Finnish geologist. 'Haüyne' is in honor of the 'father of crystallography', the Frenchman René Just Haüy.
