Metallic crystals with iridescent tones reflecting red, pink, purple, and golden colors on a grayish base. It shows natural fractures and areas with matrix inclusions.

History of this specimen

Copper and iron sulfide piece with surface iridescence generated by natural oxidation. Le Burg stands out for the presence of these specimens.

It combines the Greek 'khalkos' (χαλκός), 'copper', and 'pyrites' (πυρίτης), 'fire stone'. It essentially means 'copper pyrite'.
