Description
Green clinozoisite crystals on a gray matrix with quartz. Fibrous texture, vitreous luster, and intense green color. Typical association of calcic metamorphic rocks from the area.

- Etymology
- Its name indicates that it is the monoclinic form ('klino' from Greek) of zoisite. Zoisite was named in honor of Baron Sigmund Zois von Edelstein (1747-1819), a Slovenian scholar and naturalist who financed mineralogical expeditions.
