Devilline is a hydrated calcium-copper sulphate. It typically occurs as a secondary mineral in the oxidised zones of copper deposits, with blue-green to turquoise colour and fibrous, platy or earthy habits.
Etymology
Named in honour of Henri Étienne Sainte-Claire Deville (1818–1881), an influential French chemist known for developing the first commercial process to produce aluminium.
