Description

Apple-green microprismatic crystals line an elongate cavity in ochre matrix. Vitreous-resinous lustre and dense granulation with well-defined hexagonal points and botryoidal zones.

About Piromorfita

Pyromorphite from the lead oxidation zone with dense growth and complete coverage; bright colour and a granular texture typical of Sardinian production.

About the locality

Classic locality in south-west Sardinia, with secondary lead mineralisation; pyromorphites formed on goethite and limonite in oxidation cavities.
