About the locality

Although commonly known as the "Tazouta mine", no mining ever took place there; in reality these are small excavations around the town of Tazouta (or Tagnaneit/Takaneit on old labels). Diggers often use a nearby seasonal stream to wash the mud and clay from the freshly extracted aragonites.
