Description

Michelín. Aggregate of seven calcite spheres with sandy texture. Floater.

About Calcita

Calcium carbonate in microcrystalline spheroidal-globular aggregates. The sandy texture arises from very fine microcrystals, densely cemented, with no visible crystal faces.

About the locality

Type habit of this locality, classic for its chain-like spheroidal calcites. They form by chemical precipitation in clay-rich sediments of the Mályi clay pit, under supersaturated conditions.
