Description

Delicate arborescent baryte formed by white tabular laminae. No visible associations or impurities. Light, very aesthetic structure. Representative of the arborescent habit characteristic of this Murcian locality.

About Barita

Barium sulphate with tabular to laminar habit, often forming parallel or arborescent aggregates. Its white colour and satiny lustre give it notable visual appeal.

About the locality

Mina San Camilo, in the Vistalegre district (Murcia), produced baryte of notable purity and very distinctive forms. It is now inactive, but its specimens are regarded as reference for their arborescent habit and fibrous crystalline texture.
