Fluorescent yellow tyuyamunite crust on sepiolite matrix with pyrolusite stains.

About Tyuyamunita

Calcium uranyl vanadate of the autunite group, in which V substitutes for P. It is a rapidly forming supergene mineral capable of crystallising in oxidation zones and mine dumps within just a few decades.

About the locality

This recent find from the Sierra de Madrid stands as one of Spain's finest tyuyamunite deposits. Collectors rarely encounter Spanish specimens of this exceptional quality.
